Spring Hill has allowed me to participate in multiple campus organizations and opportunities, both domestic and international! Syd's Corner will feature my experiences on the Hill that have shaped who I am today!
This year marks my final year at Spring Hill, and I have been blessed to serve as one of the four student leaders for Spring Hill's International Service Immersion Program (ISIP). The program has a special place in my heart, and I have learned so much about myself and most importantly, others.
Typically, a group of ISIP participants travels to Nicaragua each year, but the current political climate of the country has resulted in violence during the past couple of months. My ISIP group and I actually went to Managua, Nicaragua last semester before the protests and violence broke out; Managua is the capital city where most of the violence is occurring. This just goes to show how quickly things can change. Therefore, it is important to know what is happening around you, near and far.
I loved my time in Nicaragua, and I pray for the country that it discovers healing and unity.
